Habits to maintain good dental health

Health condition doesn’t mean only the function of internal  organs like heart, lung, kidney etc… it also involves external organs like eye, mouth, ear which are vital organ and care should be taken in maintaining them. A single flaw may leads to serious condition. It is essential to check the functions of these organs periodically. People intake number of medicines and remedy measures to maintain function of heart, lungs, kidney etc… But in case of external organs some basic care is care is enough. Among many external organ, mouth involves more care, especially teeth which gets exposed to different kind of food. Maintaining of teeth is not the tedious process and doesn’t even need the help of dentist unless the symptoms like tooth ache, sensitivity change occurs. The only thing people should do is to implement this as daily habit.

Some of the teeth maintenance tips are mentioned below:

  • Choice of brush plays a major role. Choose the brush according to the shape of the teeth. People with crooked teeth have special type of brush and it should on the recommendation of dentist.
  • It is must to brush two times to keep the mouth clean. Some people used to keep the brush in the mouth for prolonged period. This causes erosion of enamel and brushing will be improper. So calculate the minimum time period as two to three minutes.
  • There is false belief that usage of more paste will clean the mouth. The paste will cause burning sensation in mouth all day, however it was goggled and the taste buds will go insensitive if used beyond certain limit.
  • Have a mouth washer with you. If you are about to travel more, you are supposed to eat the food over there which are not supposed to be hygienic. Mouth washing will clean all the food particles between the mouths.
  • Use of secondary accessories while brushing is important. Some of them include tongue cleaners and floss. Brushes can also be used as tongue cleaners and floss eradicates invisible food particles thoroughly.
  • Avoid frequent use of sugary mouth fresheners. Some people use it to avoid bad breath. This is not the cure for bad breath. Some mouth fresheners cause oral cancers because of chemicals in it. Instead use some mint and lemon which keeps you away from bad breath.
  • Don’t opt for soda and coke often because it erodes tooth enamel and increases tooth sensitivity. Wash your mouth after the intake of sodas and sweets which leads to tooth decay.

These are some of the tooth maintenance method. If all these tips are followed most of the problems will be avoided. If indeed there seems to be tooth pain, sore mouth, sensitivity it is mandatory to visit doctor before the problem gets worse.
